Festa Juninha is a hillbilly party that takes during the month of June. Originally meant to celebrate the first crops of the season and to give thanks to the saints, it has now become an event much like a county fair. James' preschool sponsered a festa juniha 2 weeks ago. I ran down to our Wal-Mart (yes, we have a Wal-Mart but it's not the same) and picked out a costume for him to wear. He even let me draw on his face with eyeliner. We arrived at the farm out in the country and they had several things happpening. Some of the kids were doing a dance they learned in school, there were games for the kids to play and of course, typical country food was being sold. Not to mention, they had Brazilian folk music playing on loud speakers. It was a neat experience and James had a blast.
Ahh! For some reason, Blogger is not letting me post the other photos. I will try again later!
